A finalist among the UK's most promising early-stage businesses

BIOVIT has been named a finalist for UK Startup of the Year at the UK Startup Awards 2026. The UK Startup Awards is a national programme recognising the best early-stage businesses across ten UK nations and regions, with category winners going forward to compete for the overall UK Startup of the Year title.

BIOVIT's growth story

Founded by Ky Wright, BIOVIT sources natural vitamin and mineral ingredients exclusively from plants, algae, and fungi, manufacturing via Plant-Ex Ingredients Ltd in Bristol. The business is backed by a combined £2.7m in R&D funding from Innovate UK and the Welsh Government, supporting live research programmes with Swansea University.

What's driving the recognition

The recognition reflects growing demand for natural fortification: independent research from Vypr (October 2025, 255 UK supermarket shoppers) found that 92% of consumers want only natural vitamins in their food products, with 73% expecting everyday food products to contain only natural nutrients.
