BIOVIT has been selected to take part in Unreasonable Food 2026, a programme run by Unreasonable in collaboration with Mars, delivered by the Mars Snacking team. The cohort brings together thirteen growth-stage companies working across different corners of the food system, from ingredient suppliers to finished-product brands, each given access to mentors and a community of founders working through similar problems as they grow.
The 2026 cohort spans an average of eight years in business and roughly $48 million in combined annual revenue between the thirteen companies taking part, a mix Unreasonable and Mars have put together specifically to pair experienced operators with newer, research-led ventures such as BIOVIT. The programme itself runs over several months and centres on three things: mentorship from people who have built and scaled food and drink businesses before, a peer community of founders working through similar growth challenges, and practical resources designed to support ventures as they grow.
BIOVIT's founder and CEO, Ky Wright, is attending the programme's retreat this week alongside the rest of the 2026 cohort.
BIOVIT was founded to close a gap between what food and drink brands wanted and what the market could offer them. Every vitamin and mineral available for food fortification at the time was produced synthetically, while brands and their customers were increasingly asking for natural, clean-label alternatives. Since then, the company has built a portfolio of natural vitamins and minerals sourced from organically grown plants, algae and fungi, secured £2.7 million in funding from UKRI Innovate UK and the Welsh Government through the Better Food For All programme, and partnered with Swansea University to run the first clinical bioavailability trial comparing natural and synthetic vitamins.
Being selected for Unreasonable Food 2026 gives BIOVIT a structured way to learn from founders further along a similar path, while contributing what the team has learned from its own research and supply work to a wider group of businesses facing the same questions about scaling natural food production responsibly. It also puts BIOVIT alongside a wider community of food-system founders at a point where the company is expanding its ingredient portfolio, deepening its research partnerships, and building out the certifications and case studies that support its natural fortification claims.
For BIOVIT's customers, that has a practical side too. The food and drink brands BIOVIT supplies are themselves increasingly asked to prove natural claims and disclose formulation choices to retailers and shoppers, and the relationships built through this programme give BIOVIT another reference point to draw on when advising clients through their own reformulation projects.
BIOVIT will be sharing more from the programme as it continues over the coming months, both here and across its social channels.
BETTER FOOD FOR ALL.
