For MagnesiumPro, Veloforte set out to challenge a narrow assumption: that magnesium is mainly a sleep supplement. Founder Lara Giusti wanted a formula that reflected the mineral's much broader role in energy production, nervous system function, muscle recovery and long-term balance - Veloforte's second foundational-health launch after CollagenPro.
To deliver the plant-based vitamin layer of the formula, Veloforte returned to BIOVIT.
One Form Was Never Going to Be Enough
Most magnesium supplements on the market lean on a single form, dosed well below the recommended daily intake, and are often bulked out with fillers or synthetic vitamins.
Veloforte wanted the opposite: four complementary, high-purity forms of magnesium at a full 375mg serving - 100% of the daily recommended intake - in one capsule, alongside plant-based vitamins and natural botanicals, without any compromise on their clean-label, vegan positioning.
That combination proved hard to source. Formulating a genuinely comprehensive, multi-form complex while holding full label-claim compliance across a 24-month shelf life ruled out most premix suppliers, who could typically offer either the natural credentials or the stability data, but rarely both.
The Vitamin Layer Behind a 4-in-1 Formula
Veloforte's formulation team combined four bioavailable magnesium forms - Glycinate for relaxation and nervous system balance, Malate for energy production, Taurate for metabolic and cellular function, and Aquamin® marine magnesium for electrolyte balance - with natural botanical extracts (ginger, turmeric and black pepper as BioPerine®) to support absorption and recovery.
BIOVIT supplied the plant-based vitamin layer that completes the formula: vitamin D3 from lichen extract for muscle function, bone maintenance, and immune support; vitamin B6 from lemon peel extract for psychological function, immune system health, and hormone regulation; and vitamin B12 from shiitake mushroom extract for energy metabolism, neurological function, and reduced fatigue.
The vitamin blend was dry-blended into capsule form, holding full label-claim compliance across a 24-month shelf life without a single synthetic input.
